Computer & Hardware Support

Knowing that your computers, servers and other network devices are working properly, performing optimally and are absolutely secure is an important goal of every company.

At Balsam we understand that if at all possible...downtime is not an option. We monitor activity constantly, so we will be aware of a problem before you are, and manage it so that we you don't have to.

Help Desk Support

Technical help from an IT technician is just a phone call away. Remote support allows Balsam to connect to its clients' computers, anywhere internet access is available. This saves everyone time and money. Better yet, Balsam is able to resolve most issues (>85% of the time) without traveling to your offices, providing you with faster problem resolution time. Of course, should an onsite call be necessary, we'll be there... in a hurry. Our emergency team is available 24/7. Have a question about the software you use? This too can be included in the service package.

Computer/Hardware Maintenance

We perform regular "tune-ups" to make sure that everything you need to keep your network secure and running optimally is in place. We look after your LAN, administer your network, manage VPN access, update your router and perform major revision upgrades when necessary. And we'll even inventory and manage IT assets, as well as track all of your related warranty and service contracts. Don't wait until problems occur. Taking a proactive approach, our engineers perform regular maintenance. We will monitor and inventory all of your PCs' assets so you know exactly what RAM, hard drive space and programs they contain.

Reporting

To keep you informed on your system's performance we will provide a regular report card that provides evidence and objective reporting on our performance. We'll even track your warranties and service agreements to reduce or eliminate the need to search for paperwork should an in-warranty repair be necessary.

Applications Management

In addition to standard software packages like the Microsoft Office suite, more than likely there are many software applications used to smoothly operate your business. What happens when you need support? No problem. We are available to support you on a broad base of programs from managing installation and performing upgrades to acting as liaison with the manufacturer/vendor. Sometimes an employee just needs to be guided through a thorny issue.

Application/Licensing Maintenance

If your company uses industry specific applications for activities such as managing electronic documents, practice management, tracking inventory, manufacturing, billing, and/or scheduling, we'll help you maintain it by monitoring activity, acting as a liaison with your vendor and ensuring upgrades are installed.

Vendor Management

Have you ever called a vendor and spent more time waiting for help than getting help? You'll never have to again with us as a partner. We'll not only manage your web host support and liaison with your internet service provider, we'll even negotiate with your web and email host as well as your telecom vendors and probably save you a bit of money in doing so. It's everything you'd expect from a partner - so you get the services you need while you make the calls that you want to.

Telephony/Voice Over IP

Voice or telephone service through an internet provider (IP telephony) allows a company to use its existing network infrastructure to support voice applications while maintaining the mandatory uptime required for dial tone. IP Telephony provides the reliability of conventional PBX systems while offering greater functionality at a lower cost. Voice over IP (VOIP) offers many benefits. For some firms it is a way to reduce costs, as voice applications can be run over the client's existing data network. For others it can improve customer service by providing cost-effective inter-office connectivity, and providing your clients with one point of contact. Still other offices benefit from the increased functionality of VOIP-based phone systems, with call center features, better call handling, and tighter integration of voice, video, e-mail, and data.

The convergence of voice and data can provide several advantages. It unifies messaging by allowing e-mails and voicemails to be viewed in one seamless in box. Auto forward allows a desk phone to forward a call to a home phone, cell phone or pager in a manner that is seamless to the customer. It can also dramatically reduce the costs of maintaining the overall system. Intelligent handsets can automatically reprogram themselves as users move from office to office, or cube to cube. Relying on instant access to e-mail and mobile telephone service through hand-held devices, such as a Treo or Blackberry, has become a standard practice for many industries.
